Fort MacArthur
Fort MacArthur was an Army post that defended the Los Angeles Harbor from 1914-1974. It was made into a museum in 1985. My girls actually love this stuff. Paige said, "I can't believe this is my very first time here!" John and I hope our love of history will rub off onto the girls. This fort was actually turned into one of many Nike bases all over the U.S. during the Cold War. They had huge missiles ready to launch if any foreign missile was seen heading to the U.S. Many of you may not have known the real reason for the these Nike bases. :)

While Mom's away, the little ones do play!!
John was watching the girls while I was out, and here is the hard evidence of what was going on. I know I don't need to mention that my house looks very lived in, but I think men have trouble multi- tasking. No offence to you male multi taskers out there. This night was devoted to see how crazy the girls could look as they jumped off the coffee table. Strictly prohibited on my watch of course. I think the evening was successful!! They are pretty cute.
Why is it that my girls always want me to leave?? Ha Ha!! On Saturday morning while John let me sleep in, he took the kids to McDonald's for pancakes and then to the pier for a morning walk as they often do. There is a group of "old guys" who are Seal Beach locals that are always at McDonald's talking politics. John thinks it's pretty funny. He said they love the girls, but more I bet to see John trying to keep syrup out of the girls hair. I guess why I say this is because I am really lucky to have such a great husband. The girls love their Dad and so do I!
