California or Bust!!!!

Well, we did it. We are now settled into our place back in sunny California! If you want to know what it was like traveling 3000 miles being 7 months pregnant, with a 4 and 2 year old, plus John( hee hee) all I can say is use your imagination!! I definitely think I deserve the mother of the year award for that trip alone! To tell you the truth our girls were practically angels considering being in the car for 9 hours at a time, and of course we have much thanks to give the portable DVD player. I must say that using public restrooms from Virgina to California was the biggest nightmare for me. Oh, I can't even think about it! Anyway, putting that aside, we were able to see some really beautiful country and some really neat places. Our camera was so dumb on the trip so we really didn't get that many great pics, but we got a lot of good footage on our video camera. I'm going to post the few pics we did get. We had a few places we went before we left Virgina that we wanted to get on here, so we hope you enjoy. Then I'll post "The Trip". You know I have really thought seriously about pushing the delete button on this entire blog thing. I know it is suppose to be fun, but I have felt this pressure in the back of my mind to get this done. So, I decided to keep plugging along and hope that all our family and friends will be patient with me. How does everyone keep up?? I would love to know your secret!!

Frying Pan Park

My friend Sarah is an amazing photographer. She took a million pictures of my kids at a place called Frying Pan Park. It is actually more like a farm. It is such a beautiful place and the kids love going there. I will really miss places like that when we move. We love going in the spring because all the baby animals. Anyway, she was taking some pictures for a class she was taking, and sent me these two of Ellie. I thought they were awesome. I love her style! The one of Paige is from our camera as you can tell, but I thought it was really cute in front of this red barn. I am still waiting to see the rest of the pictures and I know there will be some amazing ones. Thanks Sarah! If anyone is interested in seeing some of her photography check it out! http://www.sarahjanehoward.blogspot.com/

Sweetie Pie # 3

These pictures are so amazing! I can't believe how much I love her already! Yes, I said her! We are having girl #3! So much for my intuition!! We were very surprised to hear it was a girl, but we are very excited. I was gearing up for trucks and Gi -Joes and for what life would be like with a boy, and now I don't have to change a thing. More dolls, dresses, and the color pink are on the way.
John has come to terms that he will definitely be coaching girls soccer, and as far as a surfing buddy, Ellie has gently declined the offer to learn how to surf. You should see her little face as I can see her imaging that deep water and big waves. She told her dad she will play soccer but wants a pink soccer ball and surfing just isn't her thing. Paige on the other hand might be the first Thompson pro surfer. That girl has no fear!
Waving hi to everyone! The baby looks healthy and is growing bigger everyday, and so is her mother!! We can't imagine what this next one will look like. Ellie looks so much like John and Paige is a carbon copy of me. Aaaaaa the suspense!!

Update!

I thought I would write something small about what's been going on with me! I had to post at least one picture so it was not so boring. I know I'm a little bias as their mother, but you can't get them much more adorable! Well, many of you have been asking about my pregnancy and I really appreciate the concern. I am doing sooooooo much better! This one just seems so different and so much more of a challenge, but maybe I just had it way to easy with my last two. I am almost half way done, which means I still have an eternity to go, but I'm happy to at least be this far. In a few weeks we will find out if we are having a boy or girl! Although babies are born everyday, this pregnancy is no doubt another miracle in our lives and we can't wait to welcome another baby to our family!

Outside at Last!

Saturday we took the kids to the National Zoo. You have no idea how good it felt just to be outside! This cold weather is killing us. We stopped to get some ice cream cones and John took some pics of the girls. The Cherry Blossoms are almost gone now, but they sure are beautiful for the few weeks they last. Ellie was so funny in this picture! She wanted to get a flower and was trying to jump up and reach the branch. It was pretty high so when she grabbed it and pulled it down she was so excited!

The Awakening

A little while back we went to visit this famous statue in DC. It is called "The Awakening." It is a 100ft statue of a giant that is said to be struggling to free himself from the earth. The day we were there was the last day it would be in Washington DC as it has since been relocated to the new National Harbor in Fort Washington, Maryland. It was pretty amazing to see up close. I've never really seen anything like it. The girls had a lot of fun climbing all over it!
We tried to get Ellie to sit in the mouth, but it was just a little to realistic for her!

We are alive!

Hey everyone! We are having some technical difficulties as you can see. We took a two week trip to California and have been dealing with sick kids. When will it end! I've also been super sick with # 3 on the way. Needless to say I have not been up to figuring out our camera issues and getting creative on the blog! We love you all and I hope to post some of our cute pics soon. Don't give up on us! Those of you in California, can't wait to see you in June!
