Update!

I thought I would write something small about what's been going on with me! I had to post at least one picture so it was not so boring. I know I'm a little bias as their mother, but you can't get them much more adorable! Well, many of you have been asking about my pregnancy and I really appreciate the concern. I am doing sooooooo much better! This one just seems so different and so much more of a challenge, but maybe I just had it way to easy with my last two. I am almost half way done, which means I still have an eternity to go, but I'm happy to at least be this far. In a few weeks we will find out if we are having a boy or girl! Although babies are born everyday, this pregnancy is no doubt another miracle in our lives and we can't wait to welcome another baby to our family!

Outside at Last!

Saturday we took the kids to the National Zoo. You have no idea how good it felt just to be outside! This cold weather is killing us. We stopped to get some ice cream cones and John took some pics of the girls. The Cherry Blossoms are almost gone now, but they sure are beautiful for the few weeks they last. Ellie was so funny in this picture! She wanted to get a flower and was trying to jump up and reach the branch. It was pretty high so when she grabbed it and pulled it down she was so excited!

The Awakening

A little while back we went to visit this famous statue in DC. It is called "The Awakening." It is a 100ft statue of a giant that is said to be struggling to free himself from the earth. The day we were there was the last day it would be in Washington DC as it has since been relocated to the new National Harbor in Fort Washington, Maryland. It was pretty amazing to see up close. I've never really seen anything like it. The girls had a lot of fun climbing all over it!
We tried to get Ellie to sit in the mouth, but it was just a little to realistic for her!

We are alive!

Hey everyone! We are having some technical difficulties as you can see. We took a two week trip to California and have been dealing with sick kids. When will it end! I've also been super sick with # 3 on the way. Needless to say I have not been up to figuring out our camera issues and getting creative on the blog! We love you all and I hope to post some of our cute pics soon. Don't give up on us! Those of you in California, can't wait to see you in June!

Ellie's New Glasses!

The other day I was calling Ellie and was getting frustrated. I had asked her to do something for me and she was not listening! Anyway, she was sitting on the ground and when she looked up at me I thought I was going to die. It has been a really long time since I laughed that hard! She found my old glasses from 7th grade and was wearing them. Mom, what were you thinking letting me go out of the house wearing those? Good thing we don't stay in 7th grade forever!

Home Sweet Home!

We found out this week that we will be returning to CA in June! John will be stationed at Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles Long beach. Our transfer from DC was not going to happen for another year, and even then we were not sure where we would be stationed. We are really excited to have this opportunity to come back home! John is excited because he will be able to speed up his career by gaining more experience in the field. Also, to be working outside on the boats and near the water is great for him! We feel so blessed to be able to live near our family and friends once again.
As much as we are excited to see our families, let's be real. What is John really looking forward to? Two years away from surfing is too long, so he tells me!

Happy Birthday Paige!

Today Paige celebrated a very humble 2nd birthday! Ellie, Paige and I made some cupcakes and then had a lot of fun eating them! John had to work today and late into the night. He made sure that we saved him a cupcake!
I love that I captured Paige about to devour this cupcake! She has not been feeling very good today, but you wouldn't be able to tell from this picture. She is really a sugar addict. We try to limit it as much as possible, but if she hears us even mention something that may have sugar in it, it's all over! When we do "This Little Piggy" on her toes, this is how it goes for her: This little piggy had ice cream, this little piggy had candy, this little piggy had chocolate milk, and this little piggy went wee wee wee all the way home! She giggles with delight!
I can't believe that two years ago today I was able to bring this sweet spirit into the world. It's an overwhelming feeling to think about how much you can love them. I know all of you mothers know what I'm talking about!
